Crystal Oscillator (XO) for Space

Q-Tech is a leading provider in Space Crystal Oscillators are all radiation tolerant to at least 100kRad (Si) TID. Its full space designs offer radiation tolerance up to 300kRad (Si) TID.

High reliability / Space TCXO (Temperature Compensated Crystal Oscillator)

Q-Tech Corporation’s QT800 Space TCXO products offer the tightest stability for space applications in a hybrid flat pack or DDIP package.

  • Stability as low as ±0.5ppm

High Reliability / Space VCXO (Voltage Controlled Crystal Oscillator)

Features:

  • Flat packs as small as .625″ x .625″
  • High reliability space VCXOs feature low jitter and low phase noise
  • Available in flat packages or DIP

OCXO (Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator)

Q-Tech has extensive experience in creating standard and customized Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) solutions for the Space and Defense markets. Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillators (OCXOs) feature remarkable performance in terms of frequency stability, ageing and g-sensitivity.

  • Ultra rugged, Sine, HCMOS
  • SC-cut crystal utilized in the design guarantees ±1 ppb / g vibration sensitivity
  • Stability to ±10 ppb

SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) Oscillator

Q-Tech offers high frequency & low phase noise performance SAW (SOs) and Voltage Controlled SAW Oscillators (VCSOs).

Features:

  • -170 dB noise floor at 1.3+ GHz output frequency
  • Frequencies from 400 MHz to 1.3+ GHz
  • Absolute Pull range (APR) ±20ppm min.

MCXO (Microcomputer Compensated Crystal Oscillator)

 Q-Tech’s microcomputer compensated crystal oscillator (MCXO) uses a high stability, overtone SC-cut crystal with microprocessor-controlled compensation. The self-temperature sensing resonator, using a dual-mode oscillator, virtually eliminates thermometry related errors. As a result, all basic TCXO and OCXO limitations are overcome or significantly reduced in the MCXO, and it can provide performance equivalent to an OCXO, but with 105 mW maximum power consumption!

Features:

  • OCXO performance with less than 90 mW power consumption
  • Initialization time: < 5 seconds from power on to full performance
  • Startup time: 20 ms to ±50 ppm
