Unibap iX20 has arrived!

A new generation of space computer is ready for launch aboard a SpaceX mission. Swedish company Unibap Space Solutions is introducing iX20, a space computer that can analyze and process large volumes of data directly in space in an entirely new way. Until now, satellites have primarily collected data and transmitted it back to Earth for analysis. Unibap’s new technology addresses a rapidly growing demand within defense, surveillance, and reconnaissance, where timeliness and decision-making speed are critical.

At the Small Satellite Conference in Salt Lake City, Unibap held multiple demonstrations with iX20 and showcased the powerful onboard computing capabilities to handle vast amounts of data from cameras and sensors while simultaneously performing advanced analysis directly in orbit.


iX20 Makes Real-Time Surveillance and Reconnaissance Possible

Real-time space-based surveillance is highly relevant today, but it has not previously been practical on a larger scale. The reason is that it requires extremely powerful onboard computing capable of handling vast amounts of data from cameras and sensors while directly in orbit. This is where Unibap’s new iX20 space computer comes in.

The major technological shift will become reality later this year when the first satellites equipped with Unibap’s next-generation computers are launched. Analysis will move from the ground into space, shortening the path from observation to actionable information. The era of space computing has begun.
